What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device through your browser. Cookies let a site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or how you arrived, and recognise your browser on later visits. Some cookies are read only by the site that set them (first-party cookies); others are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting, typically a service the site relies on such as an analytics provider (third-party cookies).

This policy also covers similar technologies, such as browser local storage, that serve the same purpose as cookies even though they are not cookies in the strict technical sense.

The categories of cookies we use

We group cookies and similar technologies into three categories, in line with common industry practice. You can accept or decline the second and third categories at any time; the first is always on because the site cannot function correctly without it. Cookies set by the embedded services described further down sit outside these three categories, because they are set by the provider of a feature you are using rather than by us for measurement or advertising.

• Strictly necessary — required for core site functionality and security. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics (performance) — help us understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. Off until you allow them.
• Marketing (targeting) — would let us measure which campaigns bring visitors to the site and tailor follow-up. Off until you allow them, and not currently used to load any third-party advertising tag.

Strictly necessary

These keep the site working and secure and cannot be turned off. They do not require your consent under applicable cookie laws because the site cannot operate without them.

• trifecta-consent — stored in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie. Records your cookie preferences (analytics on/off, marketing on/off) and the date they were given, so we do not ask again on every page. Kept until you clear it or clear your browser's site data.

Analytics

If you allow analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to count visits, see which pages are used, and understand overall site performance. Nothing in this category is used to identify you personally. Both providers only receive the analytics_storage consent signal, granted the moment you turn this category on and revoked the moment you turn it off.

• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish visitors and sessions. _ga typically expires after 2 years; _ga_<container-id> typically expires after 2 years. See Google's cookie documentation for the current list.
• PostHog (PostHog Inc.) — sets a cookie such as ph_<project-key>_posthog to link events to a session and measure feature usage. Typically expires after 1 year.

Marketing

This category exists so that, if we ever run advertising or remarketing campaigns, your prior choice is already respected before any such tag would load. As of the last update to this page, no marketing or advertising cookie is set on this site, whether or not you allow this category. If that changes, we will list the specific vendor, cookie names, and retention periods here before any such tag goes live, and this page's "Last updated" date will change to reflect it.

When this category is off, we also tell Google Analytics to deny ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization, consistent with Google's Consent Mode.

Embedded third-party services

Some features on this site are provided by third parties and are embedded directly into the page. Because the feature is the page — a booking form you came to fill in, a video you came to watch — these load as part of that page rather than waiting on the analytics and marketing categories above. They are not used to measure your browsing or to advertise to you, but the provider receives your IP address and may set its own cookies or use similar storage.

The three services below are everything of this kind currently on the site. If we add another, we will list it here and change this page's "Last updated" date before it goes live.

• Membrain (Membrain AB) — powers the discovery call form on our Book a Demo page. Its form script loads from transportsoftware.membrain.com when you open that page, and the details you enter are submitted to Membrain, which we use as our sales CRM. It is not loaded anywhere else on the site.
• Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc.) — hosts our product walkthrough videos. The Vimeo player loads only after you click play on a video; if you never open one, no request is made to Vimeo. Vimeo may set cookies to support playback and its own measurement, governed by Vimeo's privacy and cookie policies.
• Vumbnail — supplies the still preview image shown on each video before you play it. These images are requested from vumbnail.com when a page containing videos loads. No cookie is set for this, but the request does disclose your IP address to that provider.

Third-party cookies

Where a cookie is set by a third-party provider — whether an analytics provider such as Google or PostHog, or an embedded service such as Membrain or Vimeo — that provider's own privacy and cookie policies govern how they process the resulting data. We do not control the retention periods or internal use of data by these providers beyond the settings we configure, such as consent signals and data retention windows in our provider accounts.

Your consent and how to change it

When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies; you can also close the banner without deciding, in which case no analytics or marketing cookie is set and you will be asked again on a later visit. That choice does not affect the embedded services described above, which load with the feature they provide. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or the button below.

You can also control or delete cookies directly through your browser settings, and clear local storage to remove your saved preference entirely. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect how parts of this site work, though core browsing and forms will continue to function because they do not depend on non-essential cookies. Most browsers also let you send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal; we currently rely on the in-site consent banner described above as the way to express your choice, rather than acting on browser-level signals, since there is no single agreed standard for how sites should interpret them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the technologies we use change. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do, and material changes to the categories of cookies we use will prompt the consent banner to appear again.
